Denizens of the Mundis Imaginalis is a body of paintings depicting imagery from the personal and collective unconsious that I have been working on—rather, that has been working on me—since 1993. The raw, "unfinished" nature of several of these paintings seems fitting, for I feel   that many of these images are glimses into an inner "work in progress." Some images here arose without an intention to paint representationally; some come in dreams. Some seemed to rise parthonogenically from the unconscious, whereas others gestated for years before painting them. Just where they come from, where they point to, and where they are going has been a mystery for me to watch unfold. Perhaps a future exhibiton is coagulating, condensing within a subterannean alembic.
